SYNC is Cam’s debut acting performance of any kind. Cam describes his first film making experience below:
Working with Craig Thiessen (SYNC, Director) and the members of the SYNC production team has been an experience I will always remember. This experience has taught me a lot as being someone who is interested in acting and looking into a career in acting. I learned how a film set looks and how the whole production comes together. It was fascinating. Being a part of this film has given me experience and even more motivation to keep going with my career.
Everyone on the production was great to work with. Craig is a genius when it comes film making. He knows exactly how he wants a certain scene to look by adjusting the lighting and changing it if need be. He has great camera skills and can really compose a great scene. Derek VanAlthius (SYNC, Director of Photography) is another great person to work with. He is another genius when it comes to the technical side of things. He and the guys worked hard to set up the lighting.
My scene took 45 minutes to set up the lighting. I observed how meticulous these guys all are. The attention to detail was very impressive. I also learned a lot just from watching these guys do their work. Steve Okrepky (SYNC, Executive Producer) was great to work with as well. He is obviously another smart guy with what he does. He seemed very patient when it came to doing scenes multiple times which I admired a lot.
As an actor, doing a scene multiple times is a great thing and is encouraged. But he was great with communicating what was going on on his side of the production. He was very professional and another person I learned a lot from. Overall, this was a great experience and I would do it again and again. This has been a great stepping stone into my career as an actor.
